Faversham Markets are run by a group of traders, with paid staff to set up and break down on market days.

When and Where

Faversham Charter Market – Our Charter Market is held around the Guildhall in the Market Place (ME13 7AG) and along Court Street (ME13 7AL). The market operates every Tuesday, Friday and Saturday and is open for trading between 9am & 3pm on Tuesday and between 9am & 4pm on Friday & Saturday.  Currently our Saturday markets are full, with a waiting list of traders from the Friday markets. We currently have some availability on Fridays, and good availability on Tuesdays.

Best of Faversham Market  –  The Best of Faversham Arts, Crafts and Food Market is held in either the Market Place or Preston Street Faversham (ME13 8NY). The market is held on the first and third Saturday of each month each month from February to December.  It is open for trading between 9:00am and 3:00pm.  To trade on this Market you must produce what you sell and be based within 15 miles as the crow flies of Faversham.

Antiques & Vintage Market  – Faversham Antiques & Vintage Market is held in Court Street (ME13 7AL) and Market Place (ME13 7AG). The market is held on the first Sunday of every month except January and September when the market makes way for Hop Festival weekend. It is open for trading between 9am and 4pm. The Antiques Markets are currently full with a waiting list of traders.

All our markets, except the Tuesday Charter Market are traffic free between the hours of 10am and 4pm.

How Much

Charter market – casual traders

Tuesdays: £1 per foot, so a standard 10’/3m pitch costs £10

Fridays: £2 per foot, so a standard 10’/3m pitch costs £20

Saturdays: £2.50 per foot, standard pitch costs £25

Charter market – permanent traders

Tuesdays: £1 per foot

Fridays: £1.60 per foot

Saturdays: £2 per foot

Payment to be made by monthly invoice and bank transfer. The pitch fees are payable for 50 weeks, with two weeks allowed as bookover/holiday. We expect traders to trade with us for a few months on a casual basis before becoming a permanent trader.

Gazebo hire is £10 per day. You are welcome to use your own gazebo providing it is suitable for street trading, and can be weighted down appropriately. We have some tables available for loan.

Best of Faversham

Casual traders: £25 per day in a shared double gazebo

Permanent traders : £21 per day in a shared double gazebo

Antiques Market

Single pitch £45

Double pitch £65

Indoor Guildhall pitch £30

Essential Requirements

All traders are required to have public liability insurance to the value of 2 Million GBP.

Food traders need to have Level 2 food hygiene certificates. If you are processing food you must advise us of the authority where your food business is registered and display your Food Standards Agency, Food Hygiene Rating.
